The genocide of six million European Jews during World War II has changed the reflection
on God, world and human being incomparably to any other historical event in the
20th century. Its profound impact on European culture is brought to consciousness
only little by little. Philosophy, theology and culture tried to deal with the –
at first - repressed trauma and were more and more challenged themselves. We invite
you to a philosophical journey from Bad Schönbrunn in Switzerland to Ludwigshafen
in South-West Germany, passing by Zürich and
Basel and reflecting on the
ethical, political and philosophical consequences of Shoah.
